The design of the notebook was done in collaboration with Sebastian Conran, a renowned British designer. The covers are inspired by commonly used Japanese words that Sebastian Conran learned and wrote down on his trip to Gifu.

Kaminoshigoto notebooks use Japanese Mino Washi paper, created following the Gifu prefecture artisan tradition. Although is known as “rice paper”, it is produced with the fibers of some typical Japanese plants. The paper pulp is enriched with petals, herbs, leaves, gold and silver powders.
